Austin Moonflower Performing Arts Group hosted the Chinese New Year Celebration Gala on February 9, 2019 at the City of Austin's Asian American Resource Center. About 300 spectators attended the event. Our waist drum marching band gave the audience a warm welcome. Our group's signature dance The Joy of Drums kick-started the show. The event showcased traditional and contemporary Chinese music, dance, Peking Opera, Kung Fu, Qipao fashion show, and more,  performed by our members and guest performers from Austin Chinese Opera Club, Austin Sino Dance Group, April Rain School of Chinese Dance, Shaolin Temple Cultural Center, Texas Guzheng Music Band, as well as Hai Zhu (trumpet), Eric Zhao (tenor), Nico Zhou (soprano), Zheyi Liu (guzheng), Luna Chu (violin), Betty Lin (piano), Ben Fan (piano), Ruhong Cai (mandolin), and Melinda Dai (vocal).
