Austin Moonflower Performing Arts Group hosted the Chinese Lunar New Year Celebration Gala on January 25, 2020 at Brentwood Christian School's Center for Science & the Arts . Over 350 spectators attended the event. Our group's new Harvest Drum dance, the combination of waist drum, hand drum, and red ribbon dances, kick-started the two-hour performance event.  The event showcased traditional and contemporary Chinese music, dance, Peking Opera, Kung Fu, Qipao fashion show, and more,  performed by our members and guest performers from April Rain School of Chinese Dance, Shaolin Temple Cultural Center, Austin Chinese Opera Club, Tapestry Dance, Austin Blue Dream Mandolin Orchestra, Texas Guzheng Music Band, as well as Simean Wu (piano), Chang Liu (soprano), Taehan Kim (baritone), Sam Jiang (piano), Taehan Kim (soprano), Eric Zhao (tenor), Jun Shen and Rebecca McLindon Blanchard (dance), and the Trio Band with Yang Hu (vocal and guitar), Dieyu Cao (drum), and Pan Gao (guitar).
